I, too, am slowly weaning myself from nutritional supplements. I've got a long ways to go, because I took them as insurance and believed (and still do, to a large extent) that they keep me healthier.

you could be correct, Ned. Who really knows? Plus, you might have made the best and purest choices, rather than shop the big A's cheapy china deals.

This issue has been growing. Now these interests couldn't leave well enough alone! This tells that these interest wish to harm humanity. If you wish to be healthy and not a unhealthy they have a issue because then you will not be feeding their bottom line. That is the scary part of the equation! Disgusting.

I think this is an important topic. Many people spend hundreds of dollars a month on supplements and they buy them from Costco or Walmart. They likely are not helpful or are even harmful. I would rather spend the money on the best foods I can find. But foods are nutrient deficient because of poor farming practices.

Sometimes we do need to supplement, and we need to source them carefully. Another thing that happens is that companies are bought by someone else and they change the product.
